Kingdom Hearts: Riku

The original chosen one to wield the Keyblade, Riku chooses a darkness over light when he and his friends were attacked in Destiny Islands. His decision places him in Hollow Bastion where Maleficent influences him to turn on Sora in order to help Kairi.

It’s kind of sad that he made the wrong choice, or else he would have been the protagonist of the series. I like Riku’s character design better than Sora’s. This is still a very nice cosplay though! Great work!

Kingdom Hearts: Riku 02

Cool and collected, Riku and his best friends Sora and Kairi live on the Destiny Islands and spend their days constructing a raft and gathering supplies so that they might one day set out and search for other worlds. He is rivals with Sora, competing at almost anything they can think of. Despite the fact that their rivalry is of good intentions, Riku is known to irritate Sora by being a sore loser and being very pushy involving their fight over Kairi.

This photo gives me the sense of being “reborn” into the world, which is exactly what it feels like when celebrating and welcoming the new year. Excellent work as usual by Kashino Rei! Many thanks to Pena for suggesting this! Happy New Year everyone!

2011 Cosplay Calendar for Charity

When Natalie Parisi sent me an email regarding a 2011 Cosplay Calendar for Charity, I had to admit, I was quite skeptical at first. Mainly because I’ve had many requests like this in the past, and none seemed legitimate aside from this one:

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days: Roxas

In the prequel Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Roxas is a member of Organization XIII. He does not have memories of his previous life, but easily makes friends with Axel, the one in charge of watching over him. He also befriended Xion before falling into a month-long coma as a result of Naminé’s restoration of Sora's memory. It was only when Roxas awoke that he began to question the Organization’s motives.

I really love this cosplay and those awesome keyblades! I wonder if the cosplayer handmade them? Thanks to Beatrice for sending this in!

Kingdom Hearts II: Riku 03

Although Riku became a physical manifestation of Xenahort's Heartless, Riku continued to help Sora in secret. He was ashamed of his appearance and was able to gain the Way to the Dawn Keyblade. Riku was able to return to his original form when Ansem the Wise’s machine digitally sealed away Kingdom Hearts, later malfunctioning and then self-destructs.

Kingdom Hearts II: Rikku

A miniature version of her original Final Fantasy X-2 design, Rikku appears in Kingdom Hearts II as a little fairy. She retains most her characteristics in the new game; ditzy, good-natured, and a treasure fanatic like her teammates. Her attire is slightly modified, but retains its FF X-2 feel.

Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories: Axel

Known as "the Flurry of Dancing Flames", Axel is in charge of the Assassin Nobodies and is entrusted to deal with Organization traitors. He wishes to achieve his own ideal of immortality by having everyone he comes in contact with remember him. He was called Lea when he was his original self and was friends with Isa before he became Saïx.
